President Donald Trump visited Myrtle Beach for a rally supporting Senator Darline Graham ahead of Tuesday’s election, drawing a significant crowd to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This marks the first time a sitting president has visited Myrtle Beach since 2018.

The event, held on Friday, August 22, 2026, saw supporters gathering early, with some traveling from as far as New Orleans to attend. Attendees were seen with hats, umbrellas, and staying hydrated due to high temperatures, following city warnings.

President Trump arrived at Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) via Air Force One at 6:25 p.m., where he was joined by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster in his motorcade. He then traveled to the convention center, impacting local traffic between MYR and the venue. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) released a traffic map advising drivers to avoid certain areas during the president’s arrival.

Myrtle Beach police had warned of temporary, last-minute road closures and traffic delays due to the large security operation. Drivers were advised to leave early, expect delays, and be prepared for alternate routes. Commercial flights at MYR experienced minimal impact, with brief pauses around the president’s arrival and departure, but overall scheduled services continued.

President Trump took the stage at 7:07 p.m. to speak in support of Senator Graham. He acknowledged Representative Russell Fry (R-7) for endorsing Graham and for being the first to announce his visit to Myrtle Beach. Senator Graham joined President Trump on stage at 7:54 p.m., thanking him for his endorsement and eulogy at the late Senator Lindsay Graham’s funeral. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Representative Russell Fry also made appearances.

An individual was escorted from the rally by the Myrtle Beach Police Department following a disturbance during the event. President Trump concluded his appearance and left the stage at 8:30 p.m.
