# Brooks Koepka to Play in Amgen Irish Open

Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka is set to compete in the Amgen Irish Open from September 9-13 at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg. Koepka, 36, accepted an invitation from the tournament sponsor, joining a field that includes defending champion Rory McIlroy and two-time major winner Jon Rahm. Other Ryder Cup teammates, including Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre, Rasmus Hojgaard, Nicolai Hojgaard, and Sepp Straka, are also scheduled to participate.

Koepka expressed anticipation for his return to Ireland and the challenge of links golf at Doonbeg, noting his excitement to play before passionate fans. His season has been marked by frustration since rejoining the PGA Tour in January through a returning member program after his departure from LIV Golf. While he achieved a tie for ninth at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches during a stretch of three consecutive top-20 finishes in March, this was his sole top-10 finish of the year.

Koepka missed five cuts this season and did not advance to the PGA Tour playoffs. He described his performance as disappointing and pathetic, particularly given his career stage. His primary struggle has been with putting, leading to a lack of confidence and a stated need for significant changes. Notably, Koepka finished tied for 11th at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic earlier this year.

Former Masters champion Patrick Reed will also be among the notable American players at the Amgen Irish Open, aiming to extend his lead in the Race to Dubai standings. Former American president Donald Trump is expected to attend the event as part of a visit to the Republic of Ireland.
