# Bermuda Golfers Compete in Myrtle Beach World Amateur

Bermudian golfers are continuing their participation in the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship in South Carolina, with several players achieving notable standings after the third round on September 3, 2026.

Ann Symonds holds third place in Flight 53 of the Women 59 and Under division. She recorded a gross score of 86 and a net score of 80 in the third round, bringing her three-round net total to 226. This places her four strokes behind the co-leaders, Beth Anne Aheron and Meg Watt. Another Bermudian, Angela Cook, improved her standing to tenth place with a cumulative net score of 240, following a gross 89 and net 79 in the third round.

In Flight 22 of the Mid Senior Men 60-69 division, David Abraham is tied for fifth place with a cumulative net score of 233. He carded a gross 89 and net 83 in the third round. Antony Than, also in Flight 22, is tied for 36th with a cumulative net score of 251 after posting a gross 86 and net 81.

Richard Marriott achieved the lowest gross round among the Bermudian contingent, shooting a four-over-par 76 in Flight 9 of the Senior Men 50-59 division. His net 74 moved him into a tie for 34th place with a total of 242. Tracy Burgess is eleventh in the Women’s Gross division with a three-round total of 252, having shot 91 in the third round. Ann Mitchell shares 21st place in Flight 55 of the Senior Women 60 and Above division with a gross 91 and net 82.

Gary Venning is tied for 35th in Flight 44 of the Super Senior Men 70-79 division. He posted a gross 92 and net 82, resulting in a cumulative net score of 257. The Myrtle Beach area, known for its extensive golf industry infrastructure with over 100 courses, regularly hosts such significant amateur tournaments.
