## New US 76 Bridge Over Catfish Creek Now Open

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced the completion of a new bridge in Marion County. The US 76 bridge over Catfish Creek is now open to traffic as of Thursday.

This bridge serves as the primary entry point into the City of Marion from US 576 and US 76. According to SCDOT, the newly constructed bridge incorporates wider travel lanes and updated guardrails, which are intended to enhance safety.

The previous bridge, originally built in 1941 and reconstructed in 1974, no longer met the department’s safety and design standards, officials stated.
