## Former Clemson Athlete Joins Miami Heat

Ian Schieffelin, who previously played for both Clemson men’s basketball and Clemson football, has signed an NBA contract with the Miami Heat. The Miami Heat officially announced the signing on Friday afternoon, though specific details of the deal were not disclosed.

Schieffelin participated in the NBA Summer League with the Heat this past summer. During his five games in the San Francisco California Classic and Las Vegas NBA Summer League, he averaged 8.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and shot 46.7 percent.

During his time at Clemson, Schieffelin helped lead the men’s basketball team to consecutive NCAA tournament appearances in his final two seasons, starting all 70 games. After exhausting his basketball eligibility, he chose to play for Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney for his final year of college eligibility. On the football field, Schieffelin recorded two receptions for 10 yards and played 20 offensive snaps.
