Legends Golf Resort opened The Piper to the public on Friday, a nine-hole par-3 tucked onto 12 acres behind the clubhouse.

Ken Baker routed the holes between 54 and 120 yards. The name points to wandering musicians in Scottish folklore, and the layout was first announced in June. Rounds are meant to be played in loops of three holes, passing stops for food and drink, with lights and music built into the short course.

Legends already has three 18-hole courses on the property: Heathland, Parkland, and Moorland. Guests can also get onto Oyster Bay and Heritage Club. For the rest of 2026, The Piper is priced at $10 for juniors and $25 for everyone else.

The resort sits inside Myrtle Beach, so the new short course is a city golf addition rather than a play at one of the outlying Strand layouts.
