Traffic on Highway 22 in Horry County narrowed to a single eastbound lane Saturday afternoon after a wreck just east of Highway 701.

Fire rescue was sent at about 2:55 p.m. for a single-vehicle crash. Three people were taken from the scene for treatment. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

The accounts do not say how serious the injuries were, whether anyone was pinned in the vehicle, or if any charges are expected. Drivers were asked to stay clear of that stretch while crews worked.

The interchange sits outside the Myrtle Beach city limits, on the Conway side of the county, within a short drive of the Grand Strand.
