Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Flash Weather AI won Best in Show at the eMYRge Golf Tech Accelerator Challenge, a three-day golf technology program in Myrtle Beach where eight companies pitched ideas to judges, local golf business leaders and potential investors.

The winning company offers lightning forecasts that update every two minutes with a focus down to one square kilometer, giving course operators more time to move players, staff and guests to shelter. Its First Strike technology predicts lightning strikes, and its All Clear service helps decide when play can resume.

Flash Weather AI also sells agronomy tools that track precipitation, frost, water loss and disease risk to help superintendents plan irrigation and spraying.

The showcase was organized by eMYRge, a nonprofit entrepreneurial support organization based at the HTC Aspire Hub in Myrtle Beach. It was supported by Play Golf Myrtle Beach, Coastal Carolina University and Golfweek, along with a Relentless Challenge grant from the South Carolina Department of Commerce.

Participants toured the Horry-Georgetown Technical College golf and sports turf management program and joined a putting contest at the Grand Dunes Resort. Organizers hope the event helps draw golf companies to set up headquarters on the Grand Strand.
