MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — In Myrtle Beach, the Seahawks host St. James on Friday in a Horry County region matchup after both teams posted contrasting Week 8 results.

Myrtle Beach sits 3-4 overall and 1-2 in region play after a 44-37 comeback win over Conway that kept the Victory Bell at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. St. James is 2-6 and 0-4 in the region after a 51-3 home loss to South Florence on Oct. 9, following a 33-21 setback at Wilson the week before.

The Seahawks’ offense has found late-season rhythm behind junior quarterback Camden DeBruhl and running back Julio Delfin, even as defensive issues linger. St. James, in year one under head coach Stephen Cagle, has allowed about 33 points per game and is searching for its first region win.

Friday’s game is one of three Horry-vs-Horry showdowns on the Week 9 slate, with three regular-season weeks left after this one.
