Myrtle Beach Celebrates the Union of High School Sweethearts Kinsley Odom and Chase Poston

What a beautiful day for love! On October 28, 2023, the stunning Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach set the stage for a fairy tale wedding as high school sweethearts Kinsley Odom and Chase Poston said their “I dos” with their dream of a happily-ever-after finally coming true.

Love at First Sight

Kinsley and Chase hail from Florence, South Carolina, where their paths first crossed during their junior year of high school. Kinsley recalls, “We met when I was going through a really tough time and his patience, kindness, and thoughtfulness helped piece me back together within just a month of dating. I knew we were going to marry someday!” And lo and behold, she was spot on!

Choosing the Right Venue

When it came to picking a venue for the big day, the couple felt right at home at the golf club. “We toured several wedding venues, but when we walked into the Dunes Club, it absolutely took our breath away!” exclaimed Kinsley. Considering Kinsley grew up playing golf while Chase recently fell in love with the sport, it was only fitting for them to tie the knot at such a breathtaking location.

A Special Touch

October is not only the month for pumpkins and fall foliage; it’s also Down Syndrome Awareness Month. This made the couple’s choice of incorporating a special tribute to Kinsley’s brother—who has Down Syndrome—not only impactful but heartfelt. Chase, the groomsmen, and both fathers donned Down Syndrome socks, while Kinsley honored the genetic condition with her “something blue.”

Thoughtful Traditions

There were even more personal touches on the big day. Instead of a traditional bouquet toss, Kinsley chose to dedicate her bouquet to her mom, recognizing her significant role in her life. They were also blessed to have the same pastor who married Chase’s parents officiate their ceremony.

Bridal Beauty

Kinsley shared her excitement about working with designer Gregory Ellenburg to create her stunning gown. “I’ve always known I would have a custom dress made by Gregory. I wanted to mix my mom’s dress with some of my favorite pageant dresses,” Kinsley said. She also wore her mom’s original veil, making a beautiful connection to her family history.

A Feast for the Senses

Guests were treated to an exquisite menu featuring favorites like pigs-in-a-blanket, chicken alfredo, and a delightful chocolate melting cake for dessert. Late-night snackers enjoyed pretzels with an assortment of dipping sauces. Yum!

Entertainment and Memories

The reception didn’t fall short of excitement either, boasting a live painter capturing the day’s beauty, a custom ice sculpture, and a video wall showcasing the couple’s engagement moments. Fun fact napkins about the Postons’ journey added a personal touch to the festivities, while the newlyweds’ three dogs, August, Atlas, and Ace, made their appearance on everything from the cornhole boards to the wedding crest.

Planning Tips from the Bride

As a newlywed, Kinsley offers a valuable piece of advice for future brides. “Hire a full-service wedding planner!” she emphasizes. Kinsley and Chase enlisted the help of Ash Events which made their day run smoothly while truly bringing Kinsley’s Pinterest dreams to life.

Looking Ahead

Returning to their roots, the couple now resides in their home-sweet-home in Florence. Kinsley, who works as an assistant manager at her family-owned auto sales business, and Chase, an estimator at Classic Collision, have many beautiful memories to create in their new life together.

Here’s to Kinsley and Chase—may your love continue to grow in the years to come!
