The Caribbean Jerk Cuisine restaurant turned an ordinary holiday into an extraordinary celebration by inviting all those who might not have had anywhere to spend the day. And what an experience it was!

Head Chef Kamal Fraser wanted to create an atmosphere where everyone felt not just welcomed but truly special. “We didn’t want to give them that homeless shelter-feel Thanksgiving meal,” Fraser said. Instead, he aimed for a restaurant vibe that was both warm and welcoming. “We wanted to give them more of a restaurant experience.”

Among the volunteers, Tammie Sandel was brimming with purpose. She recently started volunteering, and this Thanksgiving, she sought to be surrounded by people who uplifted her spirit. “Through fellowship and service, I knew my mom was looking down and proud of me,” Tammie remarked, emphasizing how important it was to her mom that she was out helping others instead of sitting home alone. “I think she would be proud that I am actually doing something out in public.”
