Excitement Builds in Conway for Men’s Golf Season Kickoff
Conway, S.C. – The time has finally come for golf lovers to dust off their clubs and hit the greens, because the Coastal Carolina men’s golf team is kicking off their 2024-25 season in grand style! Get ready for the inaugural Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, set to take place from September 8 to 10 at the stunning Grande Dunes Golf Club. This tournament is bringing a wave of excitement as the Chanticleers welcome a total of 13 schools to compete over three thrilling days.
Who’s in the Lineup?
Holding the spotlight alongside the Chanticleers will be teams from all around, including some familiar faces like Appalachian State, Campbell, East Carolina, and Elon. But that’s not all, folks! We’ve also got Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville, James Madison, Maryland, Old Dominion, Santa Clara, Texas El Paso, Texas State, and Western Carolina joining the mix. Looks like it’s going to be quite a showdown!
Meet the Team
This season, the Coastal Carolina roster shines bright with both returning talent and fresh faces. Returning veterans include Trey Crenshaw, Ludvig Erikson, Owen Kim, Jack Lee, and Trace McDonald. But wait, there’s more! Newcomers Max Bengtsson, Max Brud, Coleman Ferguson, and Drew Sykes are ready to make their mark. With a solid mix of experience and fresh energy, Coach Jacob Wilner looks forward to what this season has in store.

Coach Wilner shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to kick off our 2024-25 season and also host the inaugural Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate. We would like to welcome Chants fans and community members to come watch the 14 teams competing at the Grande Dunes Resort.” How about that for a warm welcome to the fans?

So, what do you need to know? First round play kicks off this Sunday, September 8, at 8:00 a.m. ET. Coastal Carolina will tee off on hole one at 8:50 a.m. ET. Players will tackle the challenges of the par-72, 7,578-yard course. It’s safe to say that the greens at Grande Dunes will be buzzing with activity, and you won’t want to miss it!
