Exciting Changes at Saddlebrook Resort: A New Driving Range and More!
Welcome to sunny Tampa, Florida, where big things are happening at the esteemed Saddlebrook Resort! The resort has just unveiled a brand-new 13-acre driving range as part of its ambitious $92 million renovation project, and it’s buzzing with excitement!
The Driving Range: A Golfer’s Dream!
Designed by the talented golf course architect Rees Jones and his associate Bryce Swanson, this new driving range is all set to elevate the golfing experience for both seasoned players and aspiring golfers alike. Imagine hitting those perfect shots at a stunning double-sided range equipped with two lush TifEagle bermudagrass putting greens and three dedicated short game areas. Sounds like a golfer’s paradise, right?
Best of all, the driving range has been moved much closer to the main lobby, making it super easy for guests and members to swing by for a few practice swings. With this addition, the resort clearly shows its commitment to nurturing golf talent, especially for students at the Saddlebrook Golf Academy.
What’s Next? Exciting Plans in the Pipeline!
But hold on, that’s not all! This stunning driving range is just the beginning. Saddlebrook also plans to remodel its two 18-hole courses and transform them into three 9-hole courses by 2025. Now, that’s a game changer!
Managing Director Raj Mohan expressed enthusiasm for the opening of the driving range, calling it a significant step in the resort’s revitalization journey. He emphasized that enhancing guest experiences is key, saying, “We want to make sure everyone feels at home while enjoying our facilities!”
Beyond Golf: A Total Sports Hub!
The excitement doesn’t stop at the driving range. Saddlebrook Resort is already a superstar in the sports world with facilities that include the renowned Harry Hopman Tennis Academy and top-notch training for students at Saddlebrook Prep. Earlier this year, both the Professional Tennis Registry and the Professional Pickleball Registry moved their national headquarters to the resort—talk about a sports-packed destination!
Modernizing the Facilities: A Bright Future
As part of the renovation efforts, the indoor meeting and event spaces at Saddlebrook are also getting a facelift. Soon, the resort will boast over 30 adaptable ballrooms and boardrooms that can accommodate up to a whopping 1,400 guests. Perfect for hosting events, weddings, and conventions!
A New Ownership Vision
In spring 2022, the resort was acquired by Mast Capital and Amzak Capital Management. The new ownership isn’t stopping at just renovations; they plan to develop a vibrant new town center right on the resort property. This ambitious project will feature 465 rental apartments, 25 townhomes, and a whopping 75,000 square feet of retail and office space. Plus, there will be a lovely pedestrian promenade for leisurely strolls. Isn’t that fantastic?
As we look towards the future, Saddlebrook Resort is embracing change and innovation while holding onto its core values. The exciting updates in both its golf facilities and accommodations promise to make every visit truly special. Stay tuned, and get ready to swing into action at the refreshed Saddlebrook Resort!
