News Summary

Myrtle Beach is witnessing the emergence of new housing developments in the Grande Dunes area, with notable projects like Cane Patch North and Beach View. Cane Patch North aims to build 62 single-family homes on Bluestone Circle, while Beach View already offers pre-construction homes priced from $900,000. Both communities will provide access to the Grande Dunes Ocean Club and reflect the ongoing residential growth in the region.

Myrtle Beach is seeing new housing developments in the Grande Dunes area, with two significant projects underway: Cane Patch North and Beach View communities. These projects aim to enhance the area by providing additional housing options and amenities.

The Cane Patch North development is proposed to consist of 62 single-family homes located off 76th Avenue North. This project is currently under review by the Myrtle Beach Planning Commission. As of July 1, construction has not yet commenced at this site, which remains covered in trees. Plans for Cane Patch North, referred to as Bluestone Circle, include homes situated on approximately 0.14-acre plots, alongside three common spaces for residents to enjoy.

While the development is in the preliminary stages, there is no publicly available timeline for when construction will be completed, and past experiences suggest that developments in the Grande Dunes area may take several years from approval to completion.

In contrast, the Beach View community, located near 82nd Avenue North, is already selling homes pre-construction. Prices for these homes range from $900,000 to over $1 million as advertised on Lennar’s website. The homes in Beach View vary in size from nearly 1,800 to over 2,500 square feet and include plans for approximately 100 residences, in addition to scenic ponds and walking trails. Beach View is situated across the street from Hook and Barrel and is adjacent to another housing development, The Promenade, which offers townhomes priced between $500,000 and $600,000.

Construction on Beach View began last summer, with the clearing of trees and site preparation. The anticipated completion date for these homes is set for late fall. Residents of both Cane Patch North and Beach View will have the advantage of accessing the Grande Dunes Ocean Club, a popular beachside clubhouse that offers additional recreational opportunities.

The development of Cane Patch North is being spearheaded by Cameron Parker from the Development Resource Group (DRG), who has actively participated in planning meetings. However, attempts to seek comments from Cameron Parker and DRG regarding the projects went unanswered prior to publication.

Other neighborhoods within Grande Dunes, like Living Dunes, continue to see active development, highlighting the area’s growth even years after the initial homes were completed. Additionally, another project, known as Marina Village, is proposed for land across Highway 17 in Grande Dunes. This development, overseen by GD Marina LLC—a company established by Freehold Capital Management—could potentially encompass nearly 76 acres. Specific details, such as the intended number of homes and their pricing, have not yet been released.

As Myrtle Beach continues to expand, the growth of communities like Cane Patch North and Beach View reflects a trend towards increased residential options in desirable areas, alongside improved amenities for both current and future residents.
