Ron was born in Waynesboro, PA, on May 16, 1939, as the son of the late Norman and Kathleen (Fogle) Vinson. He blossomed into a man dedicated to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, joy, and cherished memories. He lived his life characterized by deep devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Enthusiasm for Sports
Those who knew Ron often saw him express a genuine passion for sports. With an affinity for the Phillies baseball, Penn State football, and Villanova basketball, he never missed a chance to don his favorite team’s colors and cheer them on. Saturdays often found him glued to the television, excitedly rooting for Penn State, reminiscing about victories, and celebrating the essence of teamwork which he valued greatly.
The Golfer’s Paradise
One of Ron’s true passions was golf. He was an avid golf enthusiast who enjoyed numerous trips to the beautiful greens of Myrtle Beach, creating special memories with his golfing buddies. These trips were filled with laughter, camaraderie, and, of course, friendly competition. His love for the sport also mingled with his commitment to his family, as he often shared stories of his adventures on the golf course with them.

A true testament to his character was Ron’s unwavering commitment to his family. He treasured every moment spent with them. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Emily (Bishop) Vinson. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, raising two wonderful children: Megan and her husband Danial of Langhorne, PA, and Matthew and his wife Jayna of Calais, ME.
Grandchildren and Beyond
Ron was proud of his family, which extends to seven cherished grandchildren: Ashley, Danial, Torianne, Jessica, Whitney, Nicholas, and Kobe. To add to the joy, he leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Taylor, Abigail, Ella, Haley, and Ripley. Each of them holds a special place in his heart, embodying the family values he instilled throughout his life.
A Grateful Farewell
Ron is also survived by his brother Keith Vinson and his wife Carol of Port Saint Lucie, FL, as well as his sister-in-law Judith Wilcox and several special nieces and nephews. In his final days, the Vinson family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunrise of Lower Makefield for their compassionate care, ensuring Ron was comfortable and loved.

Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects at a visitation to be held on Monday, November 17, 2025. This event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home in Richboro, PA.
