Group Biking From Florida to Washington D.C. honor Law Enforcement with Visit to Myrtle Beach Police
The Journey Begins: Cyclists Honouring Law Enforcement
Myrtle Beach, a city known for its coastline, experienced something exquisite on an average sunny day. A group of cyclists, all energized and dedicated, are in the midst of an extraordinary journey, bicycling all the way from Florida to Washington D.C., and their stop on Tuesday was the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Their tour, though physically exerting, carries a vital mission – to honour the fallen heroes of law enforcement and acknowledge the survivors. The organization behind the wheels, so to speak, is Law Enforcement United (LEU).
Law Enforcement United: Cycling for a Cause
The LEU, which is comprised of both active and retired members of the law enforcement community, along with survivors and civilian supporters, pledges to honour the memory of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and acknowledge the families and friends they left behind.
Their stop at Myrtle Beach was not only to rest and mingle with the local enforcement officers but also to further their cause and bring the community’s attention to the struggles and perils of law enforcement personnel.
Praising Supporters at Myrtle Beach
The grateful police department utilized social media to express their gratitude towards the group and the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, who provided dinner to the riders. They also praised their local law enforcement agencies for supporting the group throughout their journey.
They emphasized the indispensable role of the Horry County Sheriff’s Office in ensuring the safety of the riders while they were in Horry County, and for their continued patronage.
The Road Ahead
The group’s journey is far from over, as they strive to cycle through different states, meeting up with various law enforcement personnel and visit more departments, eagerness and dedication evident in their pedalling. The plan is to eventually converge in Washington D.C. as part of the LEU Ride Stop, where they can collectively voice their support for law enforcement agencies throughout the country.
Unwavering Dedication
Their grueling path and the strain they willingly accept is a testament to their unyielding dedication to supporting and honouring law enforcement personnel. They are charting a route that not only physically traverses from Florida to the nation’s capital but also a path of awareness, recognition and respect for those in the badge who are often overlooked.
With their visit to Myrtle Beach Police Department, they have left an indelible mark on the city, sharing their journey and their mission. It’s clear, this group of cyclists are pedaling for more than just physical prowess; they’re biking for a cause, a cause bigger than themselves.
