Myrtle Beach Prepares for Music Festival

The Carolina Country Music Fest is set to bring the soulful tunes and bustling vibes of country music to the heart of Myrtle Beach in a week. However, drivers in the area can expect several changes to the road system starting a few days ahead of the big event. Highlighted among these changes is a set of road closures around the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion site.

Road Closures in Detail

A list of the planned road closures, many of which will start from Monday, June 3, was released by the traffic authorities. The closures include, but are not limited to, Ocean Boulevard, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues North. This includes north and south sidewalks along this stretch of Ocean Boulevard. Closures will take effect from 8 a.m., Monday, June 3, and last until 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 12.

The stretch between Seventh and Eighth Avenues North will also be closed starting at 8 a.m., Monday, June 3, and lasting through 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 11. Eighth Avenue North will have all lanes shutdown, including parking spaces. The closure will be in effect from 8 a.m., Monday, June 3, through 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 11.

Ninth Avenue North will see its closure start at 7 a.m., Wednesday, June 5. The westbound lane between Chester Street and Ocean Boulevard will be closed until 12 p.m., Monday, June 10. The eastbound lane between Highway 17 Business and Ocean Boulevard is also scheduled for closure. This closure will last from 6 a.m., Monday, June 3, through 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 11.

Alternative Routes and Rideshare Locations

The rideshare drop-off and pick-up location for the duration of the event will differ from the previous year’s arrangement. Rideshare users are advised to expect being picked-up or dropped-off along Ninth Avenue North, between Broadway Street and Kings Highway. Drivers are expected to access the eastbound lane from Broadway Street and exit using the southbound lane on Kings Highway. This arrangement is intended to help prevent traffic congestion in other areas around the venue.

Road Safety Remains Priority

While the road closures from June 3 may cause temporary inconvenience for some local drivers and businesses, the primary goal is to ensure safety and smooth operation during the duration of the Carolina Country Music Fest. Local businesses have been urged to prepare for the closures and make necessary changes in their operations for the event period. All rights to the roads will be restored to their normal states as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.

Preparation has begun for the Carolina Country Music Fest, and great anticipation surrounds the four-day event. As it draws closer, city officials emphasize that all community members and visitors co-operate with the directives to ensure a smooth and enjoyable festival.
