Myrtle Beach Artisans Gear Up for Acclaimed Art & Craft Festival

The Craftsmen’s Summer Classic Art & Craft Festival Makes a Comeback

After a long hiatus, artisans and craftsmen in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are eagerly preparing for the return of the lauded Craftsmen’s Summer Classic Art & Craft Festival. The festival, typically welcoming throngs of creatives from more than 15 states, is set to once again transform Myrtle Beach into a vibrant hub of creativity and artisan talent.

Brace for a Display of Juried Excellence

The festival prides itself in showcasing the best of creative talent. The art pieces on display undergo a thorough evaluation process, being juried and selected for their originality and creative excellence. The festival offers a platform for new and returning artists alike to exhibit their skilled handiwork.

Local Artisans in the Limelight

Amy Cox, who has been synonymous with Albatross Pottery for years, is among the local artisans feverishly gearing up for the festival. The native of Myrtle Beach began her successful journey at the same festival close to two decades ago. Amy aptly equates the festival to an intense showdown of creativity, warning eager patrons to grab the unique pieces early, or risk losing them to other art enthusiasts.

She explains, “Usually with vendors like myself, it’s a small batch. So, you know you have to get it quick on a Friday, or it’s going to be gone the next day. But I really love the fact that everything is touched beginning to end with a craftsman’s hands.”

Festival Details

The craft extravaganza will run from Friday to Sunday at the famous Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Attendees are advised to be ready for a captivating array of handmade items. The anticipated lineup lists everything from intricate pottery, fine art and jewelry to bespoke furniture, sculptures, photography, and exotic specialty foods.

Tickets retail at a friendly $9 for adults while children aged six through 12 only need to part with $1 to access the wonder-filled event. To maximize convenience, attendees can secure a free return pass for all three days and get $7 tickets online through Thursday.

As creatives gear up, the anticipation fills Myrtle Beach, ready for the flush of vibrancy offered by the celebrated Craftsmen’s Summer Classic Art & Craft Festival. The beach has always been a favorite holiday destination, but this weekend, it will transform into a haven for lovers of art and craft.
