Two Men Suspected in Myrtle Beach Shooting Arrested in Virginia

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Two men, previously sought for allegations of attempted murder in a Myrtle Beach incident, were arrested on Thursday in Lynchburg, Virginia. Jay’Quan O’Shawn Pollard, 26, and Xaviar Isiah Austin, 31, were apprehended on fugitive warrants issued by Lynchburg’s Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Details Of The Arrest

The arrests of Pollard and Austin serve in connection to an occurrence that transpired on April 8. Law enforcement reacted to a late-night report of an aggravated assault in the 1500 block of Pachino Drive, Myrtle Beach. When they arrived at the scene around 11:20 p.m., they discovered a person who had been shot. Fortunately, the victim survived the encounter with non-life-threatening injuries. More details on the incident are presently undisclosed.

Charges And Extradition

On top of attempted murder, both Pollard and Austin face charges of burglary and failure to appear relating to prior accusations on the same charge. Austin is further being charged with criminal conspiracy, failing to appear concerning a prior charge related to using a computer to commit a sex offense involving a minor under 18, and non-compliance with a court order.

The police have not released further information about the potential sentences they could receive if convicted. Pollard and Austin are expected to be extradited back to South Carolina. Until then, they both remain in custody in Virginia. Any person possessing valuable information regarding this ongoing investigation is urged to contact Myrtle Beach Police at 843-918-1382.
