MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Prince Bowens, a respected and much-loved stalwart of the Myrtle Beach restaurant scene, has passed away at 74. The former owner of “Princes Place” was a well-known figure in the Booker T. Washington neighborhood, operating the popular establishment for several decades before it closed its doors in the early 2000s.

Bowens inherited the restaurant from his mother, Frances, who originally found fame with Princes Place in the 1940s. The eatery quickly became a household name along the Grand Strand.
