Woman Arrested in Myrtle Beach Claims She was ‘Stabbed in the Face’: Report
In an unusual set of events in Myrtle Beach, a local woman was arrested after claiming she had been stabbed in the face. Desiree Lynn Dalessandro, 38, is facing charges of attempted armed robbery, shoplifting, and possession of marijuana.
Unexpected Turn of Events
Dalessandro initially attracted the attention of the local police force when she flagged down an officer on Mr. Joe White Avenue and North Ocean Boulevard to report an assault. The woman reported that she approached a group of people under Pier 14, who she says stole property from her worth approximately $100,000. She told officers the supposed thief took her knife, stabbed her in the face, and then discarded the knife in the ocean.
Accompanying Allegations
However, things took an unexpected turn when the alleged attacker gave their side of the story. The accused man offered a markedly different account, claiming that it was Dalessandro who approached him with threats, seeking the return of her stolen items. He alleged she lunged at him with a knife, aimed at his stomach, and in self-defense, he grabbed her hand, causing a cut on her cheek.
The man also claimed to have no knowledge of the stolen property that Dalessandro mentioned. He told officers nothing had been taken from her to his knowledge.
Suspect’s Charges
Upon investigation, it was found that not only was Ms. Dalessandro in possession of marijuana, but also a bracelet reported as having been stolen from a Myrtle Beach store earlier that day.
The allegations presented by both parties are still under investigation. The Myrtle Beach Police have yet to release a comprehensive statement regarding the charges Ms. Dalessandro faces and the circumstances surrounding her arrest.
All the accusations from Ms. Dalessandro and the alleged attacker have been duly noted. However, the police are in the process of verifying all the claims made by both parties.
Investigation in Progress
The local police are seeking any witnesses to the alleged incident to step forward as they continue their thorough investigation.
As criminal charges are serious, anyone found lying or providing false statements can face serious repercussions. Therefore, the authorities have urged that anyone who may have seen the incident to provide a truthful account of the events.
While the story has taken an unexpected turn and generated significant attention from locals, it is vital to remember that all individuals are innocent until proven guilty in court.
