‘THANK YOU:’ NMB police deliver clear backpack donations amid new policy
Community Effort Supporting Students
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The North Myrtle Beach Police Department recently announced its gratitude towards the community after wrapping up its clear backpack donation initiative ahead of the new academic year. The police department has undertaken a proactive and supportive role, working hand-in-hand with the community to ensure that students at Ocean Drive Elementary School will start their school year right.
This initiative comes in response to the new clear backpack policy instated at the school. Recognizing that students might face difficulties complying with this new rule, the police department stepped in to bridge the gap.
Thankful for the Generosity
The police department and the school authorities were overwhelmed by the response from the community. The department shared, through online announcements, pictures of boxes packed with clear backpacks and school supplies gathered from three different drop-off locations. These supplies were subsequently delivered to the school and gratefully received by the staff.
“The Principal, Ms. Fowler, was beyond excited and grateful,” reflected a post shared by the force on social media. The sense of appreciation extended not just to Ms. Fowler, but to anyone who donated to this noble cause.
The New Clear Backpack Policy
The new clear backpack policy is an initiative taken by the school administration to ensure community-wide awareness and active involvement in maintaining a secure and transparent atmosphere within schools. The regulations for this new policy have been posted online for public review.
Not just backpacks, but other school supplies for grades K-5 have also been documented online for potential benefactors to review and donate, ensuring students are well-equipped with required materials to kick-start the academic year on a positive note.
Continuous Efforts of Police Department
This isn’t the first time the North Myrtle Beach Police Department has demonstrated their dedication and care towards the community’s younger generation. As community leaders, they continuously step forward to ensure that no child falls short of opportunities they deserve. This recent backpack drive is just one of the many efforts they have initiated.
The police are not just law enforcers in this vibrant community but are partners in building a nurturing and safe environment for the education sector. Initiatives like these, collaborations between the police, the school, and the community, are enduring testament to their commitment.
