Day 4: Search Continues for Missing Man

The search operation for the missing 66-year-old man, Mark Wagnon, has entered the fourth day. Authorities believe that he might be heading north and could be in Oconee County or possibly maneuvering towards Georgia or North Carolina.

Missing Person Alert

Mark Wagnon was last seen near North West Elementary School on Geer Highway, Travelers Rest, at around 4:30 PM on Monday. Officials from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office provided the information of his disappearance. Wagnon is described as five feet nine inches tall, weighing around 158 pounds. He was last spotted wearing a blue/gray polo-style shirt, blue jeans, and glasses.

The missing man drove off in a gray 2010 Nissan Sentra, bearing South Carolina license plate number 7097KN.

Authorities have also raised concerns relating to Wagnon’s health as he requires immediate medical attention for memory-related issues.

Sighted in Oconee County

On Wednesday, it was disclosed that Wagnon was sighted near the Stumphouse Ranger Station on Highway 28, Oconee County. The last sighting reportedly occurred around 11 PM on Monday, August 19. Officials believe that he might have left the area, traveling north via Highway 28 or Highway 107. Though multiple search operations have been conducted in these areas, the location of the missing man remains unknown.

Authorities conjecture that Wagnon may have proceeded towards Rabun or Franklin County in Georgia or possibly Jackson County, North Carolina. In the wake of this, a county-wide alert has been issued calling locals to report if they have any information regarding his location.

Calls for Public Assistance

Citizens who might have information concerning Wagnon’s whereabouts are asked to come forward and contact the local authorities by dialing 911. Residents have been advised to stay mindful, and those living in the northern regions of the state, including Rabun and Franklin Counties in Georgia and Jackson County in North Carolina, are especially asked to stay vigilant.

The case has gained widespread attention, with calls and efforts being made to expedite the search process. Information that can lead to his location is crucial, given his present health condition. Local communities, media, and supporting agencies have also joined hands, spreading the news of Wagnon’s disappearance to help reach any potential leads timely.

The state authorities have once again reiterated that public participation plays a crucial role in cases like these. They have asked people to share relevant information, however insignificant it might seem, assuring communities that every information is essential in guiding their search operation.
