For context, Trayon White has been on the D.C. council since 2017 and represents a predominantly Black ward where the poverty rate is nearly double that of the entire district. He’s gearing up for re-election this November, facing off against a Republican challenger. At the time, White maintained he didn’t realize that his statements were rooted in antisemitic conspiracy theories.
