Heavy Building Damage Reported After 2-Alarm Fire in Carolina Forest

Significant Destruction in the Carolina Forest Area

In a significant event, a vast section of Carolina Forest witnessed a massive fire leading to immense damage to several buildings. The Horry County first responders were summoned to the location at the 400 block of White River Drive slightly before 10:40 a.m.

The Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) added a second alarm to garner more resources at the location to protect and evacuate the area. A large volume of flames and smoke marked the location, causing significant damage to the buildings in the proximity.

No Casualties Reported

At 12:15 p.m., the HCFR provided an update which confirmed that while the fire was substantial, there were no injuries reported. The fire was managed and subsequently controlled, thus avoiding further damage and potential harm.

Damage Assessment

The intensity of the fire resulted in significant structural damage affecting nearly nine units in total. Three units reported extensive fire damage, while the remaining six witnessed some smoke and water impairment. Apart from these, two simultaneous buildings also experienced damage owing to the transfer of heat from the fire.

The American Red Cross has extended its support and assistance to the displaced individuals and families in the wake of this unfortunate event.

Support from Local Fire and Police Departments

The Myrtle Beach Fire Department also joined the Horry County Fire Rescue at the scene. Their concerted efforts helped to regulate the situation and preserve safety within the area. The Horry County Police Department and South Carolina Highway Patrol also rendered assistance to ensure the safety of local residents and manage the traffic in the vicinity. Drivers are currently being advised to avoid the area to facilitate the ongoing investigation and clean-up operations.
