Exciting New Medical Center Opens in Conway
Conway is buzzing with excitement as a brand-new medical facility is set to open its doors this coming Monday! Located in the bustling Gateway Plaza right next to GameStop on Church Street, this Conway Medical Center site aims to cater to the healthcare needs of our community.
Delayed, But Worth the Wait
Originally, the plan was for the new building to welcome its first patients in spring 2023, but, as we all know, the pandemic threw a few curveballs, pushing the construction timeline back by almost a year. Now, with everything finally in place, the $5 million investment has brought a burst of joy to the area with 19 new full-time job opportunities. The facility spans 15,000 square feet and is ready to provide an array of services.
What to Expect
The new center isn’t just a run-of-the-mill clinic; it’s going to have it all! Chief Medical Officer Paul Richardson shared that this new hub of healthcare will offer primary care, specialty medicine, pulmonary and sleep medicine, along with CT scans and ultrasounds, among other essential services. “We need primary care, we need specialty medicine, we need the whole 9 yards,” he explained. He understands the demand for accessible healthcare, particularly as our community continues to grow.
Answering the Community’s Call
Dr. Richardson’s enthusiasm for the facility shines through as he stresses the importance of community-focused health services. “This is our way to address those needs,” he said. “We know not only are we heading towards the beach, but we’re also expanding to western Horry County.” He’s proud to walk through the shiny new halls and see the cutting-edge medical equipment in action. “Everything’s new, and that’s something we take pride in,” he explained. After almost a century of serving the community, they are committed to enhancing the care provided and continuing to be the healthcare home for Myrtle Beach and Conway residents.
Access to Care Like Never Before
In our busy lives, having healthcare options close by is essential, and this new facility is all about making that happen. Dr. Richardson emphasizes, “Today, that’s the name of the game, is access to care.” He believes that everyone deserves to have top-quality medical services without having to travel far from home. “CMC is my hospital, CMC is your hospital,” he said, expressing the deep-rooted connection they have with the community.
A Bright Future Ahead
With this opening, Conway is taking a significant step forward in keeping its residents healthy and happy. The new medical center represents more than just a building; it reflects a commitment to the community’s well-being, and it’s exciting to think of the many lives that will be positively impacted!
Mark your calendars and get ready for the grand opening! This is a wonderful addition to our Conway community, and we can’t wait to see all the great things this new center will offer. Here’s to better healthcare right in our backyard!
