News Summary

In 2025, an avid golfer reflects on a year filled with personal growth, joy in playing golf, and quality family time despite a reduced number of rounds played. Celebrating the birth of a second daughter led to mixed emotions while embracing unique golfing experiences and competitive outings. The year was marked by gratitude for time spent with loved ones on the greens, memorable highlights attending professional golf events, and cherished moments with family. As the year closes, anticipation builds for what lies ahead in 2026.

Golfing Adventures in 2025: A Fun Year of Family, Growth, and Memorable Rounds

As we reflect on 2025 from the sunny city of Naples, it’s clear that for one enthusiastic golfer, this year represented a blend of personal growth and the sheer joy that comes from playing the game, even if the number of rounds played dipped significantly. With a projected total of just 70 rounds by the end of the year, this is quite the drop when compared to previous years, which boasted 117 rounds in 2018 and 114 in 2019. It’s safe to say that the addition of a new family member brought about some big changes.

A New Addition to the Family

In a heartwarming turn of events, our golfer celebrated the joy of becoming a father for the second time in October 2025, just a few days shy of turning 36. Growing from a family of three, which included a wife and a daughter, to a family of four with the arrival of a second daughter has surely brought about a whirlwind of both joy and responsibilities. With an expanding family, the golfer found themselves being more selective about when they hit the links and cherishing those stolen moments of time on the course.

Gratitude on the Greens

Embracing sage wisdom from renowned sources in the sport, it became clear that every minute spent on the golf course holds special meaning. Our golfer learned to appreciate not just the rounds they played, but also the moments they shared with friends and family on the greens. With this newfound perspective, the golfer approached each round with gratitude, understanding that time devoted to the sport was a precious resource.

Considered Rounds That Didn’t Make the Cut

Throughout the year, there were plenty of standout rounds that caught our golfer’s eye but ultimately remained unplayed. For instance, a stunning walk around the newly restored Dunedin offered an enticing experience, and a match at the new Kinsale Club in Naples in March had all the makings of a fantastic day, but sometimes life intervenes. Additionally, a state mid-amateur qualifier in April where our golfer made a spectacular eagle with a wedge also had to take a back seat due to family commitments.

A Competitive Spirit Shines Through

Despite the reduced overall rounds, 2025 also saw our golfer participate in 17 rounds of competitive golf, marking the highest number of competitive outings since 2018. Among these adventures was a return to the Myrtle Beach World Amateur, an event that had not been attended since 2018. Getting paired with a colleague during this event certainly added layers of excitement, even though the day ended with a close loss by just one shot.

Unique Golfing Experiences

This year also brought some unique opportunities for play. In June, the golfer enjoyed an innovative “choose-your-own-adventure” style round at Storm King Golf Club in New York, where they embraced different shots along the course and tried something out of the ordinary. They discovered the Hickory Revival at Sand Valley Golf Resort in Wisconsin, where rental hickory clubs for both right-handed and left-handed players added an extraordinary twist to the game.

A Joyful Family Moment

Among the memorable highlights of 2025, attending the third round of the Cognizant Classic at PGA National Resort with both his wife and oldest daughter stood out. That day marked their family’s very first experience of professional golf, bringing the love of the game full circle. A sweet memory came when the daughter lent a helping hand to a volunteer placing a flag by a notable player’s ball, later receiving it as a cherished souvenir.

As 2025 comes to a close, our golf enthusiast is not just left with memories but also with anticipation for what lies ahead. Here’s hoping for more rounds, more family time, and of course, more sweet swings in 2026!
