Myrtle Beach Glows with Holiday Cheer!
The festive spirit is alive and well in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! This past Saturday, the community came together to celebrate the annual tree-lighting event at Broadway at the Beach, a local favorite for both residents and tourists alike. The evening was filled with music, laughter, and lasting memories, marking the official kick-off to the holiday season.
Hosts with the Most
The event was expertly hosted by the well-known personalities, Ed Piotrowski and Jennifer Abney. They helped to guide the crowd through an evening of enjoyable performances, smiles, and anticipation as the grand tree awaited its moment in the spotlight. With a festive atmosphere that only Broadway at the Beach can provide, the tree-lighting celebration was a dazzling experience for all ages.
Musical Performances to Brighten the Night
The night featured live performances from the incredibly talented Socastee High School’s Socastee Singers, adding a youthful charm to the event. Alongside them, the local talent from Broadway Theater and the renowned Legends in Concert kept the crowd entertained with a range of festive tunes. Even the dancers from Carolina Dance District took to the stage to showcase their incredible skills, bringing joy and spirit to the evening.
A Special Wish Come True
One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening was when a young boy named Denim received a special surprise. Denim, who is bravely battling a brain tumor, was granted his wish to visit the magical world of Disney, thanks to the endlessly compassionate Make-A-Wish Foundation. His aunt, Tina Russell, spoke about the challenges Denim has faced, noting, “He just had another procedure done like two weeks ago. His sixth surgery, and he’s only four. So, this has been a lot for him, for his little body, so we’re just happy to see him smiling right now.” Denim’s joy was contagious, bringing smiles not just to his family but to everyone present!
Glowing Lights and Magical Music
The highlight of the night, of course, was the moment everyone had been waiting for—the lighting of the magnificent tree! With its bright, colorful lights that twinkled like stars against the night sky, the tree is set to be a daily spectacle. Visitors can catch the tree adorned with synchronized music and dazzling light shows from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the holiday season. It’s a perfect excuse to gather friends and family for a cozy evening spent marveling at the twinkling lights.
