Musical Magic from the 70s to the 90s

A Musician’s Journey

For those who may not know, Matt Doda isn’t just a local musician—he’s a full-time performer who has been enchanting audiences since 2008. With over 1,000 solo gigs under his belt along the Grand Strand and beyond, Matt has made quite a name for himself! His journey is as interesting as his music. Originally from the northeast, he moved to Myrtle Beach in 2002 to dive into the PGA Golf Management program at Coastal Carolina University but found his true passion in music.

After joining local favorite, Julio and the Saltines, and working closely with co-founder Julio Navarro, Matt transitioned to solo performances around 2013. This shift came at a time when audiences were eager for solo musicians, particularly in the wake of the Great Recession. Talk about seizing an opportunity!

Expanding the Musical Repertoire

Over the years, Matt has expanded his song list, which now includes some of those memorable one-hit wonders from the 90s that everyone just loves to sing along to! He cleverly promotes his gigs through word-of-mouth, cultivating a dedicated following that appreciates the organic nature of his growth as an artist.
