First Friday Artwalk to showcase Myrtle Beach cultural talent

Myrtle Beach, a city renowned for its engaging social events and rich local talent, is preparing to host its monthly First Friday Artwalk on August 2nd. The event aims to bring a delightful blend of art, performance arts, and cultural diversity to the heart of downtown, hosting an evening of public engagement and local talent exposition. The event is organizing by the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance.

A Platform For Local Talent

The First Friday Artwalk has been designed as a platform to highlight the local talent brimming within Myrtle Beach. The event is set to run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and ranges across a gamut of artistic and cultural showcases – from live painting and pottery demonstrations to improv shows, language arts expositions, and open mic performances. As Chief Executive Officer of the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance, Jason Greene, explains, “Our intent is for this event to continue to grow month after month.”

The History of First Friday Artwalk

The First Friday event traces its roots back to 2017, when local photographer Carl Kerridge and artist William H Miller launched the initiative. Since then, the event has continued to grow with William H Miller Studios hosting an art reception in tandem with the monthly event.

What To Expect at the August Artwalk?

Attendees of the August Artwalk can expect a rich and vibrant showcase of diverse local talent, prominently displayed across the participating galleries and businesses in the area. The Walk is set to feature a myriad of artistic showcases, from painting to sculpture, photography, and more. Several artists will also be working live with their mediums during the Artwalk.

Not only does the event promise a visual delight, but it also aligns with the culinary appeal of Myrtle Beach. Downtown restaurants will be offering dining specials and unique beverage options for attendees during the event, making it the perfect occasion for a summer evening out in the city.

An Event for All – Free and Accessible

Moreover, the event stands as free and accessible to all, underlining its commitment as a community-focused event that values inclusivity. It invites families to enjoy an evening of interesting performances, local art exhibits, food, and fun.

So, Myrtle Beach residents and visitors, clear up your calendars for August 2nd and prepare to immerse in an evening dedicated to local talent, creativity, and flourishing community culture. Source: HERE News Network
