MYRTLE BEACH: ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic Set to Attract Golf Enthusiasts

The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic is scheduled for May 8-11, 2025, at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, featuring 132 players competing in the PGA Tour. The highly anticipated event will showcase renowned golfers alongside celebrities in a Pro-Am tournament. With a purse of $4 million, the winner will take home $720,000 and secure PGA Tour status through 2027.

The weather is expected to pose some challenges, as forecast predictions indicate a high of 71°F and a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms later in the day. Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 66°F with a 90% chance of rain at night, making it essential for attendees to plan accordingly.

Merchandise and Fan Experience

In response to last year’s overwhelming demand for merchandise, the tournament has revamped its offerings. A new fan zone tent has been added, expanding capacity to accommodate increased interest. Merchandise tents will feature a variety of items, including hats, shirts, beach towels, golf bags, foam hats, and knick-knacks, all reflecting a vibrant beach vibe with bright colors rather than traditional golf hues.

Local apparel company Native Sons, managed by Steve Taylor, will showcase beach-inspired merchandise in the fan zone. Additionally, the newly created Sand Bucket Surf Shop will offer golf and beach merchandise, including unique items such as boogie boards, which are typically absent from golf tournaments. Special surfboards are also set to be displayed, with one scheduled to be signed by the tournament champion and later auctioned for charity.

Celebrity Pro-Am and Schedule

The event will feature celebrity participants in the Pro-Am tournament, including stars like Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell, who will join professional golfers for rounds. Gates will open at 6:30 a.m. for public entry on all tournament days, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy all the festivities.

Tickets and parking passes are available through Ticketmaster, with children under 15 receiving free ground access. General parking will be provided at Lot 9, with shuttles to the golf course, costing $20 per day. It’s important to note that prohibited items at the tournament include large bags, weapons, glass containers, and pets—except for service animals.

Community Impact and Broadcast Information

Proceeds from the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic will benefit nine local charities, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Myrtle Beach and the Children’s Recovery Center. This commitment to the community highlights the event’s focus beyond just golf, aiming to positively impact local organizations and residents alike.

The tournament will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel during select times throughout the weekend, allowing golf fans to follow the action from the comfort of their homes.

As the date approaches, excitement is building for what promises to be a fun-filled weekend of golf, celebrity appearances, and community support at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.
