The community’s heartfelt remembrance highlights the deep bonds formed around shared interests like golfing and family values, making his absence felt deeply.

Myrtle Beach Says Goodbye to a Beloved Community Member

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, recently lost one of its cherished residents, Michael Thomas Corrigan, who passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on October 10, 2025, at Conway Medical Center. Born in 1946 in Washington, D.C., Michael was a warm-hearted soul who left a lasting impact on everyone he met throughout his life.

Family and Early Life

Michael was the son of Willard and Ruthann Corrigan, who instilled in him a deep appreciation for family values. Graduating from James Wood High School, he went on to find a fulfilling career in sales, particularly in the dairy industry. His work ethic was commendable, but it was his spirit that truly made him shine.

Passions and Interests

When he wasn’t working, you could find Michael indulging in his favorite activities. He was an avid golfer and loved to unwind at the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying life. A proud supporter of the Penn State football team, he often cheered on his team with enthusiasm. Michael also had a deep love for his two furry companions, Mia and Chewy, who were always by his side, adding joy to his days.

A Heart for Family

At the core of Michael’s life was his family, which brought him immense pride and happiness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda, whom he married on May 9, 1990, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love. Michael leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughters: Kris Miller, Kari Delp (Charles), and Kelly Pallis (Thomas). He also embraced two stepsons, Roger Kersey and Eric Kersey, further expanding his close-knit family.

Legacy of Love and Remembrance

Michael was the proud grandfather to several grandchildren, including Conrad Miller, Carson Miller, Lauren Davis (Cody), Leksi Travitz, and great-grandfather to little Chase Davis. His siblings, Cheryl Swartz (the late Charles) and Cathy Wingfield (Gary), along with sister-in-law Debbie Corrigan, are left to remember the joy he brought to their lives. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Corrigan. All services for Michael will be private, honoring his family’s wishes.

A Note of Remembrance for a Local Icon

In related news, the community also remembers Nancy Jean Floyd, who passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 67. A memorial service for Nancy will take place on October 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Nancy was cherished by her husband, Keith Floyd, and her three daughters: Whitley Floyd (Will), Janelle Fellenz (Ian), and Courtney Mims (Jesse). Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren and the many lives she touched as a dedicated pharmacy technician.

Nancy loved spending time at the beach and nurtured her houseplants with great love and care. Contributions in her memory can be made to the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society, ensuring her compassionate spirit continues to thrive in the community. Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the Floyd family during this difficult time.

The passing of both Michael Thomas Corrigan and Nancy Jean Floyd leaves a void in the Myrtle Beach community, but their warm souls and loving spirits will forever be remembered by the families and friends they cherished.
