Crowd enjoying the Myrtle Beach Golf Classic event

Myrtle Beach, September 16, 2025

News Summary

The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic has proven to be a monumental success, raising $15.8 million for the local economy and awarding $225,000 to charities. Despite inclement weather reducing attendance, the event drew 36,000 attendees and experienced a significant increase in out-of-town visitors. With $700,000 spent on food and beverages and record television ratings, the tournament set a precedent for future events, reaffirming its role in supporting local causes and tourism.

Myrtle Beach Celebrates a Successful ONEflight Classic

Myrtle Beach has once again proven to be a bustling hub for sports and charitable events with the recent ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, which showcased not just some impressive golf but also a tremendous boost to the local economy. This year, the tournament pulled in an eye-popping $15.8 million for the Grand Strand community, surpassing last year’s figure of $15.4 million and making it another unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

A Giving Spirit Shines Bright

During an exciting check presentation at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic awarded a fabulous total of $225,000 to nine deserving local charities. Among them, the Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand received a generous $50,000 donation. Six other charities, including Help 4 Kids and Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina, each received funds ranging from $4,500 to $26,750, reflecting the tournament’s commitment to giving back to the community.

A Day in the Sun – Well, Almost

Over the course of four fun-filled days, the tournament attracted approximately 36,000 attendees. However, the turnout was slightly lower than last year, as inclement weather kept around 5,000 more people at home. Nevertheless, those who did attend enjoyed a great atmosphere, filling the air with excitement and camaraderie!

One of the positive notes of this year’s tournament was a 6% increase in out-of-town visitors, which significantly contributed to the overall economic success. The well-loved merchandise sales also soared beyond expectations, totaling over $400,000. A big shout-out goes to a local vendor, Native Sons, who really stole the show with their offerings!

Food and Fun – Oh My!

The culinary scene also shone during the tournament, with food and beverage spending exceeding $700,000. This means that not only were attendees enjoying the thrill of the game, but they were also indulging in some tasty treats and beverages – a winning combination!

Going Global – The Viewership Soars!

Television ratings for the event hit an all-time high with 3.53 million viewers tuning in, which is a remarkable increase of one million from 2024. This growing interest seems to be echoed on social media, with impressions leaping from 20 million to an astounding 31 million year over year.

In addition to the ONEflight Classic, the Q Myrtle Beach, a qualifying event associated with the tournament, made waves on YouTube, with impressive stats showing 541,000 views and 273,000 hours of watch time. It seems like everyone is eager to be part of this wonderful celebration!

Looking Ahead

For those who might be wondering about next year, the same nine charities that received funding are set to benefit from at least $225,000 again in 2026. The list of recipients includes Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach, Project Golf, SOS Care, Champion Autism Network, SC Smiles Dental, and the Children’s Recovery Center. This consistency highlights the tournament’s ongoing commitment to supporting local causes while encouraging tourism and growth within Myrtle Beach.

Over the course of the last two years, the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic has already generated more than $31 million for the local economy and $450,000 in charitable donations – what a fantastic achievement!

Mark your calendars because the next ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic is set to take place from May 7-10, 2026, at The Dunes Club, and tickets will go on sale this winter. Be sure to grab yours and join in the fun!
