Sarasota Welcomes a New Golfing Jewel: Soleta Golf Club Opens Its Doors

Golf enthusiasts in Sarasota, Florida, rejoice! A brand new golf course designed by renowned golfer Nick Price is now open, and it’s already generating buzz in the community. The Soleta Golf Club recently held a media event to celebrate its official opening, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured an exciting tee shot by none other than Price himself.

A Race Against Time

What’s even more impressive is that this stunning par-72 course took just 11 months to complete! According to the managing partner and developer David Turner, this swiftness did not compromise quality. “We knew that in selecting Nick as our designer we’d get a stunning championship course that would be enjoyable to play for all members,” Turner said. The course measures a whopping 7,415 yards and promises both challenge and enjoyment for golfers of varying skills.

Preserving Nature

What’s really noteworthy about the Soleta Golf Club is its commitment to the environment. The golf course has been constructed in a way that beautifully winds through a sanctuary-like landscape without impacting any wetlands. In a time when concerns over environmental stewardship are ever-growing, Soleta has made it clear that they take these issues to heart. Turner highlighted their commitment to water conservation, enhancing wildlife habitats, and protecting sensitive ecological areas.

Design Philosophy

Nick Price expressed his excitement about being part of the Soleta project. “It was an honor to design the golf course at Soleta. We were part of a great team and created a special place for golfers to play, spend time with friends, and have fun,” Price remarked. His approach in designing the course incorporates natural features such as wild wetlands, uplands, open grassland, and majestic trees. “Importantly, no wetlands were impacted or eliminated anywhere on the property,” he added, underscoring their dedication to preserving the existing natural beauty.

Game On!

Golfers can expect a refreshing experience at Soleta. With a focus on strategy, Price’s design incorporates native areas and sand features that lend the course a natural and open feel. The conditions are described as firm and fast, challenging golfers to think carefully about their shots. So whether you’re a seasoned pro or a novice, there’s plenty to keep you engaged on this beautiful course.

Looking to the Future

But it doesn’t stop there! Coming in Spring 2025, Soleta Golf Club is adding an exciting new feature – a walking-only 9-hole short course called The Colt. This will offer even more golfing opportunities for members and guests looking for a casual yet fun golfing experience. It’s clear that Soleta Golf Club is committed to continuously enhancing its offerings and serving the local golfing community.

So, whether you’re a local resident or just visiting, the Soleta Golf Club stands as a testament to top-notch design, environmental responsibility, and a love for the game. With its dazzling course and thoughtful amenities, it’s set to become a favorite spot for golfers both near and far. Get ready to hit the green in beautiful Sarasota!
