Texas Man Wanted for Violent Felonies Found and Arrested in Myrtle Beach

A Texas man who was sought for multiple violent crimes has been arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Anthony Ansel Medrano, aged 33 of Conroe, Texas, was apprehended on July 3 after being recognized by a police officer due to previously released alerts.
The Arrest
According to reports released by the local police, Medrano was first sighted on 25th Avenue North where an officer recognized him matching the description given in a prior alert. The officer then approached Medrano for questioning. When second officer arrived on the scene, Medrano allegedly made an attempt to escape on foot, ignoring several warnings by the officers to stop. Medrano was apprehended by authorities on 27th Avenue North.
Upon his capture, it was confirmed by dispatch that Medrano was indeed the individual mentioned in the alert and was wanted in Texas on multiple charges. The warrant issued in Myrtle Beach included “weapons charges and numerous pending violent felonies.”
