The Muni Golf-Inspired Bar Opens, Bringing Fun and Flavor to Logan Circle!
Get ready, everyone! A brand new gathering spot is swinging into action on January 17. The Muni, a golf-themed bar that promises both excitement and relaxation, is set to open its doors on the second floor of the Mai Place apartment building, located at 1400 14th Street NW. Whether you’re a golf fanatic or someone who simply enjoys a good cocktail, this venue has something for everyone!
What’s Behind The Muni?
The Muni isn’t just any bar—it’s the latest brainchild of Jim Abdo and is operated by the well-known H2 Collective. These folks have previously given us some of our favorite hangout spots, like El Rey and Cafe Colline! With Abdo as a partner on this hip new project, the bar promises to be vibrant and inviting. Situated on the second level of a sleek six-story building, The Muni can host a whopping 280 guests at once. Talk about a party!
Feel the Love for Municipal Golf!
The name “The Muni” holds a lot of love for municipal golf courses. It’s a theme that resonates deeply with both casual players and seasoned pros. As you step inside, you enter through a cozy, golf-inspired pro shop that sells all sorts of golf goodies, from embroidered caps to personalized golf tees. The decor is nothing short of stunning, featuring a mid-century golf aesthetic with nostalgic photographs of golf legends, chic leather couches, plaid accents, and soothing green walls.
What’s on the Menu?
Beverage lovers, rejoice! The drink menu is nothing short of inspiring, drawing on classic country club cocktails. Bartenders will be shaking up goodies like the “Transfusion”, “Breakfast Ball”, and the notorious “Don Daly”. Expect to splash around $14 to $15 per drink. When it comes to dining, The Muni keeps it simple with snacks like 10-inch pizzas, chicken tenders, and fries—perfect for fueling up while you play!
High-Tech Fun Awaits!
Now, for the coolest part: patrons can take advantage of high-tech virtual simulators! Ever dreamed of swinging a club on famous golf courses from the comfort of your seat? Well, you can do just that! Tee times kick off at $50 per person, providing the chance to play a round and impress your friends. But that’s not all—these simulators also allow you to throw footballs or kick penalty shots in an interactive darts display, so you can unleash your competitive spirit.
Games Galore!
The fun doesn’t stop there. The Muni features nine-foot-long putting greens that serve as versatile playing grounds, allowing for games like “putt” pong and tic-tac-toe. Plus, sports fans can catch all the big games on one of the 20 TVs available throughout the venue. You can cheer on local heroes like the Washington Commanders during their playoff game!
Stay Late and Laugh!
This inviting spot keeps things lively, staying open until 2:45 a.m. on weekends, with weekday hours starting at 5 p.m. and noon on weekends. And just for good measure, the beloved cult classic film Caddyshack will be playing on loop, projected on two large screens near the bar, ensuring plenty of laughs and good times for everyone in attendance!
An Experience for Everyone
Whether you’re a golf enthusiast or just looking for a fun night out, The Muni aims to create a friendly atmosphere where all are welcome. With connections like the legendary Bill Murray, who knows, he might just pop in for a drink! Mark your calendars, gather your friends, and swing by The Muni—it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
