Abbeville, South Carolina – A tragic accident on Tuesday morning resulted in the death of one person and left another injured after several vehicles collided with a cow on the roadway. The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. on S.C. 20 in Abbeville County, as confirmed by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Details of the Accident

According to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, a 2005 Ford pickup truck was traveling west on S.C. 20 when it struck a cow that had wandered into the road. The impact sent the cow flying into the eastbound lane of S.C. 20, where it was subsequently hit by a 2023 Toyota sedan, followed by a 2013 Toyota SUV that also collided with the animal.

Casualties and Injuries

Sadly, the driver of the Toyota sedan, identified as Amy Ward, a 52-year-old resident of Abbeville, died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Toyota SUV sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. As of now, there is no further information available regarding the condition of the SUV driver.
