Exciting News for Young Golfers in Myrtle Beach!

Great news for the kiddos who love to swing clubs! The vibrant city of Myrtle Beach is all set to welcome back U.S. Kids Golf, which is promising something fantastic for young golfers between the ages of 5 and 18! After a bit of a hiatus, the organization will be bringing 18 events to the Grand Strand, and we couldn’t be more excited!

A New Era Begins

U.S. Kids Golf has been a staple in the world of junior golf for nearly three decades, and now it’s making a comeback to the local scene after more than ten years. The local tour had been inactive since around 2013, but the golf community has been buzzing with anticipation as this renowned group is ready to reignite young players’ passion for the game. With the appointment of a new Myrtle Beach tour director, the excitement is palpable.

Meet the Mastermind Behind the Tour

Ed LaPierre, the former executive director of First Tee of the Coastal Carolinas, is stepping in to steer the ship. His enthusiasm to revive the local golf tour came after chats with a friend from U.S. Kids Golf, and let’s just say, he’s all in on this new adventure! The community is thrilled to have his expertise and passion leading the charge.

The Schedule is Set!

Buckle up! The tour will have events scheduled through the summer, fall, and spring, with six events set for each season and taking place every Sunday at 2 p.m. Mark your calendars, folks! The very first event launches on June 22 at the beautiful Myrtlewood PineHills Course.

Here’s what to expect: Players aged 5 to 11 will tackle a challenging nine holes, while older competitors will engage in a full 18-hole event. This setup is perfect for kids of all skill levels, making it a fantastic opportunity for budding golfers to show what they’ve got!

Affordable Fun and Even Scholarships!

Worried about the cost? Don’t be! The entire tour membership is around $40, and while event entry starts at $49, there are scholarships available for families who might need a little financial assistance. So, no child has to miss out on this incredible opportunity! Plus, each membership comes with a $25 coupon code for products at the U.S. Kids Golf website. It’s a great way to get set up for the season!

Expanding Opportunities Ahead

LaPierre is not stopping there. A thrilling addition is in the works—a developmental division for younger players aged three to five. This lineup will allow these little stars to tee off after the regular tour members, giving them a taste of competition in a fun, supportive environment.

Plus, U.S. Kids Golf plans on incorporating parent-child tournaments, creating memorable moments for families while fostering a greater community connection.

Earn Points and Awards!

Each tournament promises excitement as players earn points and awards, gearing up for the world championship held annually in beautiful Pinehurst, North Carolina. Exciting times are ahead, for sure!

Community Support

The local golf community has expressed enthusiasm over this revitalization of the tour. Founders Group International, East Coast Golf Management, and Burroughs & Chapin are excitedly hosting some events this summer.

The summer schedule will showcase several golf clubs, culminating in a spectacular tour championship on August 3 at Wild Wing’s Avocet Course. This isn’t just golf; it’s a celebration of young talent and community spirit!

Ready to Hit the Greens?

Those interested in joining the fun can easily register online. It’s time to grab those clubs and step onto the green for an unforgettable experience. Contact LaPierre via email or phone for more information and let’s make this summer one to remember for our young golfers!

Let’s Tee Off!

So here’s to a summer filled with competition, camaraderie, and community spirit! Here’s hoping the fairways are open, the sun is shining, and our young athletes are ready to shine! Are you ready to tee off the summer in Myrtle Beach?
