Exciting Times for UWG Men’s Golf Team in 2025-26

Carrollton, Georgia, is buzzing with excitement as the UWG men’s golf team gears up for their second year competing in Division I. With a fresh schedule for the 2025-26 season now officially announced, golf fans and players alike are eager to see how the Wolves will fare in the upcoming events.

A Packed Schedule Awaits

This year, the team has lined up an engaging mix of tournaments, with four events set for the fall and five in the spring. The action kicks off with the GMAC Invitational on September 22-23, which will take place at the scenic Limestone Springs Golf Club, located just outside Oneonta, Alabama, and hosted by UAB. This inaugural tournament is an excellent opportunity for the Wolves to showcase their skills right out of the gate.

Strengthening the Program

For the 2025-26 season, special attention has been put into enhancing the competition schedule. The addition of two new events in the fall, as well as the return of two familiar tournaments, speaks volumes about the team’s commitment to improvement. Following the GMAC Invitational, the Wolves will journey to participate in the Ironwood Intercollegiate at the end of September, setting the stage for a challenging and engaging competition calendar.

Fall Events to Watch For

An exciting highlight comes in the form of the Pinetree Invitational on October 13-14, where the Wolves previously dazzled by finishing in second place last year. With such a strong history, anticipation builds around this event, as fans hope to see the team build on past successes. The fall season will wrap up nicely with the FAU Golf Invitational, taking place at the Panther National Golf Club on October 27-28. Known for its stunning landscape and authentic golfing experience, this course was recognized as the 12th-best golf course in Florida by Golf Digest in 2025, making it a must-watch event.

Spring Brings New Challenges

As the calendar shifts to 2026, the Wolves will dive back into competition at the Savannah Collegiate in late February. Following that, the always-popular Surf Club Invitational is scheduled for March 9-10 in bustling Myrtle Beach. The highlight of the spring season might just be the Linger Longer Invitational, held at the renowned Great Waters Golf Club from March 20-22. Renowned for its illustrious past players like Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler, this event will see the Wolves facing off against Power Five schools including Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and South Carolina.

The Road to the ASUN Championships

Before the grand finale at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, set for April 21-23 at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, GA, the Wolves will take on the Golfweek Invitational in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, from April 6-8, followed by the Bluegrass Collegiate on April 13-14 in Lexington, Kentucky. These events will be crucial for the team to fine-tune their skills and build momentum leading into the championship.

Looking Ahead

As the season approaches, there’s a noticeable buzz of optimism among players and fans. The previous season was a learning experience for the team, recognized as one of the youngest in the league. With hard work being put in during the offseason, there are high hopes for significant improvement, making this season one to watch closely for all supporters of the UWG men’s golf team.

Mark those calendars, folks! It’s shaping up to be a thrilling year ahead in the world of college golf!
