Weekend Fun in Conway
This weekend, Conway is buzzing with excitement! Between the Halloween festivities and the lively parades, there’s a lot happening in the heart of our beautiful city. However, if you’re planning to drive around town, be prepared for some road closures as everyone gears up for some fun activities. Yes, that’s right – a little traffic disruption will be part of the fun!
Road Closures for the Halloween Hustle
First up is the Halloween Hustle 10K/5K taking place on Saturday morning. If you’re an early riser, keep in mind that the roads will begin closing at 6:45 a.m. Now, don’t panic! They’re expected to reopen around 11:30 a.m., so if you’re not participating, maybe plan on getting your errands done a little later in the morning when the traffic eases up.
The good news is, the police department has informed us that traffic will be allowed through the area whenever it’s safe to do so, so if you need to head out at that hour, keep an eye out for any detours! It’s definitely a great time of year to witness our community coming together for a good cause and a little healthy competition!
Halloween Golf Cart Parade and Coastal Carolina University Homecoming Parade
But that’s not all – the excitement doesn’t stop there! Later on the same day, the Halloween Golf Cart Parade will kick things off, followed by the Coastal Carolina University Homecoming Parade. Road closures for these parades will start at 9:30 a.m. and the route will reopen as the parade moves through the area. It’s such a festive time where we can come together as a community and cheer on our neighbors, friends, and students!
Residents can expect some lively golf carts decked out in the spookiest decorations and an array of marching bands that are guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone’s face. Plus, it’s a wonderful chance for the CCU students and the local community to showcase their school spirit and creativity. We all remember our homecoming days, right?
What You Need to Know
If you have plans to attend either event or travel around Conway on Saturday, just remember:
- Buckle up, and be ready for road closures starting at 6:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for the respective events.
- Keep an eye out for detour signs and be patient with traffic – excitement is in the air!
- Consider walking or biking if you’re close by. It’s an excellent opportunity to enjoy the crisp autumn air!
Wrap Up
This weekend is shaping up to be a fantastic one in Conway! Gather your friends and family, and don’t miss out on all the Halloween fun and community pride floating around. Whether you’re participating in the Halloween Hustle, greeting your neighbors in the parade, or simply enjoying the festive atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Stay safe out there, and let’s make some great memories together this Halloween season! For those of you driving, plan ahead, and find alternative routes to avoid any traffic headaches. Let’s keep our city lively and fun while being a little patient with the road closures!
