Their family life was intertwined with strong values, commitment, and undying affection. Together, they raised three wonderful children—Todd W. Pflugbeil, Glenn L. Pflugbeil, and Kyle H. Over the years, William and Maureen made their home in Connecticut before enjoying their retirement in Wells, Maine. For twenty blissful winters, the couple also find joy in the sun-soaked shores of North Myrtle Beach.
A Distinguished Career and Heartfelt Community Involvement
William’s journey took him through a distinguished career that began with his service as a Cryptologist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. After serving his country, he dedicated 41 years to Connecticut Light and Power (now known as Eversource), where he eventually retired as General Manager. William was known not only for his remarkable work ethic but also for his leadership and integrity.
His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life. He also contributed his time and talents by serving on the Board of Directors of the Garde Arts Theater in New London, Connecticut.
His Passions and Hobbies
When he wasn’t busy serving his community or spending time with family, William enjoyed indulging in several hobbies. He was an avid golfer and loved taking long walks on the beach, often dreaming about his next travel adventure. A passionate gardener, William took pride in nurturing plants and flowers in his garden. As a proud fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, he often found joy in game days, cheering for his teams with fervor.
