Myrtle Beach, November 25, 2025

News Summary

Recent fire incidents in Myrtle Beach, including multiple structure fires resulting in injuries and significant property damage, remind residents of the unpredictability of such events. Fire crews responded to several emergencies, showcasing community collaboration during crises. Local authorities emphasize the importance of safety measures and preparedness to reduce risks in the future.

Myrtle Beach Area Experiences Fire Incidents Resulting in Injuries and Damage

In the beautiful coastal city of Myrtle Beach, residents faced some alarming incidents recently as multiple structure fires broke out in the area, leading to injuries and property damage. On Monday afternoon, crews from Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) and the City of Conway Fire Department rushed to a home located near the Myrtle Beach National golf course on Brogdon Drive.

The Garage Fire in Myrtle Beach

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the flames had been contained to the garage area of the residence. Fortunately, thanks to the swift actions of the fire crews, the situation was kept from escalating further. Nonetheless, one individual was evaluated on-site for potential injuries and opted to sign a medical transport waiver, indicating they did not require further medical attention.

Kitchen Fire in Surfside Beach

November 21, 2025, a kitchen fire broke out in an apartment in the Surfside Beach area. As smoke filled the air, emergency services received the alarm around 9:08 a.m., and firefighters were dispatched immediately. Their quick response proved effective, as they were able to extinguish the flames before they could cause any major damage.

Sadly, one occupant did suffer from smoke inhalation, while two others managed to escape the intense situation on their own. Paramedics treated two individuals at the scene; however, they chose not to be transported to the hospital. The third occupant received further treatment at a local healthcare facility.

Firefighters Collaborate for Fast Response

The teamwork evident in responding to the Surfside fire included assistance from both the Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach fire departments, showcasing the strong collaborative efforts of these firefighting teams during emergencies. It’s always heartwarming to witness such dedication from our local heroes.

Destructive House Fire in Little River

In a separate incident, tragedy struck in the Little River area later that same Monday afternoon. A house fire erupted in the 3000 block of Edgewood Road, which is located conveniently behind North Myrtle Beach High School. This fire, which originated around 4:19 p.m., was much more damaging, leading to the complete destruction of the home.

Firefighters from HCFR worked diligently to fully contain the blaze, battling the flames with all their resources. The cause of the fire in Little River is still under investigation, leaving residents anxious for answers. Horry County police, along with the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue and the Calabash Fire Department, provided critical assistance during this challenging incident.

Staying Safe and Prepared

All in all, these recent fire incidents in Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Little River serve as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of such events. It’s essential that residents remain vigilant and prepared for potential emergencies around their homes. Regularly checking smoke detectors and having an emergency plan in place can make a difference when it counts the most.

Our community stands strong during these trying times, and we extend our gratitude to our brave firefighters and first responders who consistently work to keep us safe.
