North Myrtle Beach – Bowled. Co has officially opened its third South Carolina location at Barefoot Landing, enriching the dining options in North Myrtle Beach. The new establishment is now operational at 4922-B Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582, joining the existing locations in Conway and Myrtle Beach.

The owner of Bowled. Co, Kathleen Pingelski, has expressed enthusiasm about expanding the company’s reach in the region. She aims to introduce more residents and visitors to the unique Bowled experience, which promotes healthy eating options tailored to various dietary needs.

Bowled. Co features a diverse menu that includes grain bowls, smoothies, salads, and other healthy alternatives to fast food. The establishment prides itself on accommodating customers’ dietary preferences, offering both gluten-free and vegan options for those with specific nutritional requirements. Additionally, the shop has instituted a rewards program that enables guests to earn free food, enhancing customer engagement and loyalty.

In addition to the opening of Bowled. Co, the North Myrtle Beach area is experiencing further development in culinary entertainment. Alley Oops, a bowling-themed restaurant, is set to replace the former Ryan’s buffet at 3607 Highway 17 South. This new venue will offer an expansive 24,000-square-foot space featuring 12 lanes dedicated to Duckpin Bowling.

Alley Oops was originally established in Ocean City, Maryland, and the new location aims to replicate its success by providing an entertaining dining atmosphere. The owner and general partner, Chris Reda, has detailed plans for additional attractions, including a shark tank and a mini-golf course, to elevate the dining and leisure experience for patrons. The restaurant expects to create up to 120 job opportunities, contributing to the local economy.

Construction of Alley Oops will involve demolishing the old Ryan’s buffet structure, with a projected opening date set for March 2026. Reda has highlighted the location’s potential, citing Myrtle Beach’s growing year-round population and the familiarity many visitors have developed with the area through their vacation experiences.

The growing dining and entertainment scene in North Myrtle Beach is complemented by recent events in regional sports, such as Coastal Carolina’s appearance in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on December 23, 2024. The team faced a challenging game against the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), resulting in a 44-15 loss. This matchup proved difficult for Coastal Carolina, particularly given that several key players had entered the NCAA Transfer Portal just before the bowl game, impacting the team’s lineup.

With this loss, Coastal Carolina ended its season with a 6-7 record, which marked the team’s first losing season since 2019. Undoubtedly, both the excitement of new dining venues like Bowled. Co and Alley Oops and the competitive spirit of local sports like Coastal Carolina football contribute to the vibrant economic and cultural atmosphere of North Myrtle Beach.
