CONWAY, S.C. — In Conway, Coastal Carolina football is leaning into neon nostalgia this week, unveiling limited-edition 1990s-theme uniforms for Friday night’s Wait Til You See This showcase against Appalachian State at Brooks Stadium.

The Chanticleers take the field at 8 pm Friday night, Oct. 16, on a national ESPN2 broadcast. Athletic officials say the kits pull bold color blocks and oversized graphics drawn from TGIF-era sitcoms and 1990s pop culture, right down to a Jazz-cup shoulder nod.

Teal Nation is asked to dress for the decade. Limited 90s T-shirts are already in the Coastal Team Store, and game-worn versions of the special jerseys will go on sale later in the week. Five fans in the stands can win a 90s-inspired jersey, with winners named in the fourth quarter.

Friday’s gate attractions include a free video-game truck and kids inflatables, campus boutique pop-ups, the pregame radio show, a RAV4 giveaway segment and the debut of a Teal Tide Trading Company T-shirt cannon.

Coastal Carolina University, a major Grand Strand employer based in Conway, is using the annual theme night to pack Brooks Stadium as the Chanticleers host App State.
