This event is part of a newly outlined PGA Tour calendar that includes several modifications, though much of the slate remains consistent with previous years.
The 2027 season will introduce one new tournament and feature two distinct stops at Pebble Beach, separated by four months. Notably, the PGA Tour will not include any events in Hawaii for the 2027 season, as both the Kapalua event and the Sony Open have been removed from the schedule. The Sony Open, a fixture since 1965, has transitioned to the PGA Tour Champions.
Kicking off the season, The American Express will take place from January 21-24, marking the start of the West Coast Swing. This segment of the schedule will feature two signature events before the tour moves to Florida. In March, the Cadillac Championship will be held at Trump National Doral, shifting its position from the 2026 schedule and swapping dates with the Valspar Championship. This adjustment aims to provide playing opportunities for golfers not qualified for signature events between the Masters and the PGA Championship.
Major championships in 2027 include the U.S. Open returning to Pebble Beach in June, followed by the 155th Open Championship at the Old Course at St. Andrews in July. The regular season will conclude with the new Sompo Championship in Napa, serving as the penultimate event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs. While a new two-week Tour Championship with match play is planned for 2028, the 2027 playoffs will precede this format change.
The full 2027 PGA Tour schedule includes other key events such as The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in March, the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club in April, and the PGA Championship at PGA Frisco in May. The RBC Heritage, a signature event, is scheduled for April 15-18 at Harbour Town Golf Links.
