Myrtle Beach Hero Earns Promotion to Deputy Fire Chief

Division Chief Bradley Kempf of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department who has served with ardor and devotion to the community ever since he joined the department in 2005, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief.

Bradley Kempf embarked on his career in the department as a Firefighter-Paramedic and quickly proved his mettle. His passion, hard work, and commitment to community service soon saw him rise through the ranks, moving from shift Lieutenant to shift Captain. Kempf’s steady rise culminated in his appointment as the Division Chief of Administration in 2020; a role he played dutifully and deservingly.

On Friday May 3rd of this year, consistent excellence in service earned Deputy Chief Kempf a well-deserved promotion. He presently serves on the HGTC Emergency Management Advisory Board and Paramedic Advisory Committee. Moreover, he holds the esteemed position of coordinator for the Pee Dee Regional Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Team.

This multi-hazard team closely oversees the maintenance of all its assets to ensure its prepared effectiveness to deploy in response to any Type III hazard request.
