The Florida Atlantic University men’s golf team is set to host its third annual Florida Atlantic Invitational, with the tournament scheduled to take place from September 23 to September 25. This year’s event will be held at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, a notable change from previous years.
The tournament will feature 13 teams competing over three days. On Wednesday, September 23, the teams will participate in a practice round. Competitive play will begin on Thursday, September 24, with two rounds of golf. The final round is slated for Friday, September 25.
The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island is a well-known golf destination, recognized for its challenging layout and scenic coastal environment. This venue provides a significant setting for the collegiate golf competition, drawing attention to the Grand Strand region’s reputation as a premier golf destination. The event will bring collegiate athletes and their supporters to the South Carolina coast, contributing to the area’s vibrant sports tourism economy, which is a key driver for Myrtle Beach and Horry County.
The Florida Atlantic University team will be among the competitors, aiming to improve upon their previous performances. In last year’s invitational, the Owls finished in ninth place. This year, they will look to leverage the experience gained from past tournaments as they compete on a new course.
