COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M keeps the early-season schedule at home in College Station on Friday, bringing Northern Kentucky into Reed Arena for a tip set for 7 p.m. and streamed on SEC Network+.
The Aggies sit at 1-0 after a 97-66 victory over Alabama State on Tuesday to open the Bucky McMillan tenure. Five Aggies reached double figures that night, led by 22 points from Haggerty and 17 from Pope, Texas A&M Athletics said.
Shelley finished with 14 points and 12 boards, becoming the first Aggie with a double-double in a season opener since 2018. On defense, the Maroon and White piled up 25 forced turnovers and 13 steals and limited Alabama State to 32.8 percent shooting.
The Norse are also unbeaten at 2-0 after beating South Dakota 102-94 on the road Wednesday. Pagotto poured in 30 points in that game and is putting up 24.5 points plus 8.0 boards per night through two contests, the athletic department preview said.
Friday marks just the second all-time meeting. Texas A&M took the 2017 game, and the Aggies have not dropped a home opener since 2012.
Discounted faculty tickets and a balcony meal package remained listed in the Reed Arena preview from Texas A&M Athletics ahead of tip.
The Texas A&M Sports Network plans a 6:30 p.m. radio pregame show for fans across College Station and the wider Brazos Valley before the ball goes up.
Reed Arena tip is 7 p.m. as College Station hosts an undefeated Northern Kentucky club hunting its first win over the Aggies.
McMillan wants sharper individual skill after the Alabama State blowout, and Friday gives the Aggies another home look before the nonconference slate gets deeper in College Station.
