MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The city of Myrtle Beach confirmed Monday that Raising Cane’s, the chicken finger chain that started in Louisiana, is building its first restaurant in town.
The new spot is going up at 960 Jason Boulevard, close to where U.S. 17 meets Mr. Joe White Avenue. It replaces Burro Loco, a Mexican restaurant on that lot that has closed for good. Work at the site was already underway in September, when the city’s Community Appearance Board gave a final look to a change in the outdoor lighting plan.
No opening date has been announced. Until the store opens, the nearest Raising Cane’s for Grand Strand diners is in Mount Pleasant.
The city also shared a second fast food change. The Chick-fil-A now on Mr. Joe White Avenue plans to relocate about two miles away, to a new building where Robert Grissom Parkway crosses 29th Avenue North.
