MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Early voting is running strong at the South Strand Recreation Center, where an election worker said the site south of Myrtle Beach has been handling roughly 2,000 voters a day.
The worker said the crowd thinned a bit late in the week but still ranged from parents carrying infants to people in their 90s. She also reminded residents that an early voting center may not match the precinct where they cast ballots on Election Day.
The South Strand site at 9650 Scipio Lane is one of seven early voting centers in Horry County, according to the county. The others are Aynor Town Hall, the Carolina Forest Recreation Center, the Loris Public Safety Center, the North Strand Recreation Center in Little River, the county voter registration office in Conway and the 21st Ave County Complex in Myrtle Beach.
Centers are open 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Oct. 31 and are closed today, Sunday, Oct. 25. Voters must show photo identification, and curbside voting is available for anyone who needs help.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, when residents vote at their assigned polling place.
